Security & data
ReportInSite keeps your reporting data with you. The free web tool runs entirely in your browser; the Jira app keeps everything on the Atlassian platform.
ReportInSite Web (free, available now)
The web tool is a page that runs in your browser. Sprint reports you paste, files you load and numbers you type are processed on your own device and saved in your browser's local storage. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and there is no account to create.
| Aspect | How ReportInSite Web handles it |
|---|---|
| Where data lives | In this browser's local storage, on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it — use Back up (JSON) to keep a copy. |
| What is sent to us | Nothing you load into the tool. Like the rest of this site, the page records anonymous visit statistics. |
| Files you import | CSV and Excel files are read in your browser and never uploaded. To read Excel files, the SheetJS library is downloaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com the first time you open one (a pinned version, checked against its published fingerprint). |
| PDF export | Generated on your device. The PDF library is downloaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com the first time you export. |
| Share links | The report data is packed into the link itself. Anyone with the link can see it, so share it like you would the file. It is not stored on our servers. |
ReportInSite for Jira (coming soon)
The Jira version is an Atlassian Forge app. It runs on Atlassian-hosted infrastructure and reads your board and sprint data through Atlassian's own APIs, using least-privilege read access. App state — your metric framework, targets and snapshots — is stored in Forge storage on the Atlassian platform. The reporting core requests no write access to your issues.
